PRAYER: The world’s greatest wireless connection.
“Likewise the Spirit also helped our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26
“Hear my prayer, oh Lord, and give ear to my cry; hold not your peace at my tears! For I am a stranger with Thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.” Psalm 39:12.
“But surely God hath heard me; He hath attended to the voice of my prayer.” Psalm 66:19
To be still is to be in prayer with the Most High. Listening to His voice, feeling the calmness in your heart. Being on your knees pouring out to Him all of your cares. He listens, He cares, He sees your afflictions. He notices your joys, He has compassion for all of your needs. If God didn’t love you as He says He does, He wouldn’t have allowed you to be. He wouldn’t have created you. And now that you are of His creation, He is wanting you to commune with Him. Don’t forget.. Don’t pray just because you are only in need, but pray with thanksgiving. Pray because you want to talk to Him as you talk with your earthly father about things. He rejoices when you come Him. Though He already knows everything about you, He still wants to commune with you.
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Philippians 4:6-7.
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27.
“These things I have spoken unto you that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33.
Find your quiet place. Close the doors. Hide yourself from the world around you. Take your breaths. Listen. Begin your prayer and make it personal. Not traditional and not robotic. Call out to the Father in heaven and ask Him to hear you. Ask forgiveness for anything you may have done to offend Him first. Then bring your heart to Him. Bring yourself as a sacrifice upon the altar. Give all of yourself to His will at this point. Don’t rush it, don’t worry about anyone else of anything else. All of that can wait for a bit until you are done. Don’t let your mind wander on anything that has nothing to do with this conversation. Imagine you are sitting in front of Him, and His compassionate eyes are resting upon you. His heart is aching because you are in sorrow. He patiently awaits your first words to approach His ears. And once you have finished your conversation with Him, imagine Him scooping you up in His arms and saying, “Don’t cry little one, it will be alright. I am here now. I will help you.”
Do you remember having a conversation with your earthly dad and hearing those words? Or if you have never experienced that, experience it with your Heavenly Father, for He is ready to comfort you.
“And when you pray, don’t be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. I tell you, They have their reward. But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut the door, pray to your Father which in in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly. But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not like them: for your Father knoweth what things you have need of, before you ask Him.” Matthew 6:5-8.
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16.
Father, I thank you for another day that you have made, that I will rejoice and be glad in. I thank you for allowing Jesus to be in my heart today. Thank you for allowing me to go whithersoever He goes today. I thank You for Your grace and your mercy and for your light you have entrusted me with to grow and follow my Saviour. I thank you for the rest you give and for the abundance of gifts you bestow upon me each day I am allowed to wake up. Father thank you for just allowing me to be. Every night I ask forgiveness for things I may have consciously or unconsciously have done against you. I thank you for your forgiveness. I thank Jesus for all He does for me in my life to keep me safe and to keep me sustained through His grace. Thank you for getting me through all of my trials and tribulations, for I know it is to strengthen me and to rely on Your goodness and mercy and to allow my faith to grow stronger knowing that at the end of these trial roads, you are at the end ready to rejoice in my overcoming. I know Father that with you at the helm of my life, I can do all things, for Christ Your Son is with me. For You know the path that I take and You know which way to direct me. I thank you for continuing to work in me until Christ comes. I thank you for your promises you give through your Word and that these promises will never be broken. And through my faith, I will receive each one. For I know that I am no longer under sin’s dominion, but victorious through the indwelling Christ. I know that Your grace is sufficient for me. I will no longer count on sinning, because it is a form of unbelief, and that is the sin that will be accounted for. And though the cloud of doom may hover over me at times, I know that I am comforted. Your rod and staff is about me. Thank you Father I pray in Jesus name. Amen
“Oh my child…” What does He say next?. “For I the LORD thy God, will hold thy right hand, saying to thee, ‘Fear not for I will help thee.” Isaiah 41:13.
“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord JEsus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are i any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. And our hope of you is steadfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.” 2 Corinthians 1:1-7.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:” Ephesians 1:3.
