We must keep faith in our God within us. These dark times will shortly pass. Only through our Saviour can we be certain that at the end of each trial, we have the victory through the indwelling Christ.
While we are in these storms of life, what is the best way to overcome? What is the best way to make it through another day?
Praise Him. Give praise to our Saviour! Praise Him because He is worthy to be praised. Praise Him because He deserves all of our praise. Instead of moaning and groaning and making ourselves sick over these trials, give Him praise through it.
“I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.” Psalm 34.
Praise Him because of His mercy. Praise Him because of His grace. Praise Him because of His Sovereignty. He is worthy of ALL praise. I praise you Jehovah because of your sacrifice for me. I praise you Jehovah because you love me. I praise you Jehovah because you do so much for me. It is an honor to me that you chasten me and scourge me because you have received me. So I shall not despise the chastening of you LORD, nor will I faint when I am rebuked of You. Hebrews 12:5-6. Your purpose and plan for me is in your will, and Your thoughts are of peace, and not of evil toward me, to give me an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11-12. You mold me and shape me for I am the clay and You are the Potter, and you make me after Your will. I am in Your hands LORD. Isaiah 64:8. You shape me in the refiners fire. Zechariah 13:9. Your righteousness is worthy of praise. And when I moan and complain, I will remember to Trust in You Lord with all my heart; and lean not unto my own understanding. And in all my ways will I acknowledge You, and I know You will direct my path. Proverbs 3:5-6.
I was in my bed trying to put my mind and body to rest. But thoughts were all about me, causing me to fret certain things, and I began feeling down trodden in my heart. But the Spirit of the Lord said to give praise, and I began praising Jesus with all the reasons He is worthy of all praise, and my grievous heart melted in the love of God and His mercy for me. I rested like a baby the rest of the night. The load was lifted off of my chest, and all of the toilsome thoughts were sent away. When you praise Him, your praises are accepted as incense to God and He hears them and sends His Comforter to us, and the dark clouds go away, and you wake refreshed for the new day that He as made that we are to rejoice and be glad in. Psalm 118:24. The Word also says; “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised.” So at night, while trying to rest but have too much on your heart and mind, or during the day when you are trying to get by, PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME. For the Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart and saveth such as be of a contrite heart. Psalms 34:18. “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” Psalm 32:8.
I praise You Jehovah for gifts You give me. I praise You for the safety you provide. I praise You for the material things You bestow unto me that keep me satisfied. I praise You for the meals you keep on the table. I praise You for keeping me clothed and fed when there are more unfortunate ones out there who cannot provide for themselves and their families. I pray for Your mercy upon each of them and that I may be able to do unto the least of these, that it will be done unto You. Matthew 25:40. I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall be continually in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof , and be glad. Psalm 34:1-2.
“Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of His holiness. Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.” Psalm 48:1-2 “Clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. For the LORD most high is terrible; He is a great King over all the earth.” Psalm 47:1-2. “The LORD of host is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.” Psalm 46:7.
From a book called This Too Shall Pass is a little prayer. And it is called Up from the Ashes. It says;
God, raise my body and my spirit up from the ashes and let me float for a while amongst the angels. Take my hand and lead me from the depths of dark thoughts to a joyful new perspective. Gently direct me to greater heights of happiness. I cannot do this alone, God, so be my chaperone as I strive to become a better person. Help me rise to each and every occasion and shine a little brighter every day.
When you give your praise to the Most High, you give praise to His Son. For Jesus is the only begotten. And God sent us His Son, and to them both is all praise given. This is what pulls us through a gloomy day. This is how we get through the storms of life. Knowing that at the end God is there with open arms ready to receive us and give us the comfort we long for. Give all praise and give all of yourself, and all of the despondency of the heart shall be taken from you, as This Too Shall Pass.
“In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain? For lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privilege shoot at the upright in heart. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? The LORD is in His holy temple, the LORD’S throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids try, the children of men. The LORD trieth the righteous: ”Psalm 11:1-5
“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say on the Lord.” Psalm 27:14.
