““But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the Word, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” James 1:22-25.
Definition of Doer: “One who does; one who performs or executes; One who performs what is required; one who observes, keeps or obeys, in practice. ‘The doers of the law shall be justified.’ Romans 2”
Definition of Hearer: “One who hears; one who attends to what is orally delivered by another; an auditor; one of an audience.” Noah Webster 1828.
As we profess to be followers of Christ, we need to BE followers of Christ. Not just saying “I follow Jesus,” and yet not obeying the Word of the Lord, then professing to follow Christ is of no avail. The Word says to “Be ye doers of the Word;” Not just hearers. Saying you have read the Word and claim to obey the Word but yet let slide all of the commandments, is not obeying the Word or are doers of the Word. Reader this paper is not to sweet talk you. It is to “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sin.” Isaiah 58:1. There is no more time to be led astray with lies.
The Scriptures say: “For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.” Romans 2:13.
The Bible has instructions and examples of all we are to be doing while we are in our time of probation and while we are waiting for the return of the Lord to come and collect His saints. Those who wait upon the Lord and do not research for themselves what the Bible says in detail about matters of dress, food, about Spiritualism, about apostasy, about adultery against God, the Ten Commandments, and our lifestyle, to do these things in active labor of it, will not see the coming of the Lord in the manner they are hoping. If your lifestyle is of the world of pleasure, and not of actively preparing for the coming of the Lord to take His saints home with Him for eternity, is not preparing for eternal salvation. Will they be on the right side of the Lord when He returns? In their minds they seem to think so. But the Bible says specifically that if you do not do what the Word says, you will not enter into the gates of the city.
“Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted Word, which is able to save your souls.” James 1:21
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” James 1:5-8
Because the Word says plainly that “Blessed are they that do the commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” Revelation 22:14.
For those who claim to be followers of Christ, yet live life vicariously and think they don’t have to do anything, is a deception to themselves. Those who say they can’t wait to see the Lord needs to look at themselves and ask, are they REALLY READY.
Questions that should be considered. If the Lord Jesus came in the cloud and stood with all His host of angels, calling with a sound of a trumpet to His saints, will you reader be saying, “This is our God, we have waited for Him,” or will you be hiding in the clefts of the mountains asking for them to fall upon you. Will the Lord’s brightness bring hope and peace to your heart with gladness, as you know that you shall meet Him in the air with the saints that were in the dust, or will His brightness destroy you. These are very serious questions. Questions you must ask yourself, “Where do I stand in the Lord.”
“For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with he Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17. Those who believe in the secret rapture and not searching the Bible for themselves with these verses that are given proving there is no secret rapture, are only hearers of the word and not doers. For preachers and pastors who preach of the secret rapture are; “For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision (of the heart) Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.” Titus 1:10-11.
Practical Piety. What is the meaning of it? How does that play into our daily lives? The definition of practical piety is this. GOOD WORKS. Good works in how we dress, our diet, the music we listen too, how we spend our time, what our daily lives obtain through our conscience of duty, obedience to all the command of God. ALL COMMANDS that is throughout the Bible. So many pastors, and church goers say they go by the Word and the Word only. Yet many do not do what the Word says. Look at dress. What does the Bible say about dress?
Look at Deuteronomy 22:5; “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are an abomination unto the LORD thy God.” Yet church women all around wear jeans, shorts, slacks, and pants of all kinds. They are an abomination unto the Lord. Now are they doers of the Word if they say we go by the Word only? They read it, but do not obtain it or use practical piety. If the women of the church or even don’t go to church, wear pants every day to work, school, church, to the park, doing yard work, in any circumstance, and think nothing of it, they are not doers of the Word of God.
And men that wear dresses and put on makeup and call themselves women. Crossdressing, drag queens, and transvestites. They too are an abomination unto the Lord. What does the word say about men who dress this way?
“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; But became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beast, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a REPROBATE MIND, to do those things which are NOT CONVENIENT; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” Romans 1:21-32
As Revelation 22:14 says that they that do the commandments of God may have right to enter into the gates of the city, the Kingdom of God, the wicked have no right at all.
“For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremonger, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.” Vs.15
“Much happiness might be avoided if all would eat and drink and dress with an eye single to the glory of God!... We want to be right because it is right. It is the Bible standard that we are to reach. The Lord tells us to come out…and be ye separate.” RH December 1, 1885.
Those who hear the Word and then go back about their sinful daily lives, are not doers. Sitting in the pew listening to the Sunday morning sermon, taking in the Word of God in the manner it was given, then going home and changing clothes and then watching football, going to the park, going to parties, and forgetting the word that was giving, is not a doer of the Word. It stops at the door of the church and goes no further. Even some true Sabbath keepers are guilty of that.
“But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.” James 1:25.
“But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!: Luke 11:28.
“If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.” John 13:17.
Practical piety is what shapes our characters. “And true character is not shaped from without, and put on; it radiates from within.. Our profession of faith may proclaim the theory of religion, but it is our practical piety that holds forth the Word of Truth.” DA p. 307
Our diet is another thing that people take advantage of. The word is specific on certain foods we are to avoid. And it is stated by many that if God put it on the earth it is for us to eat. The Bible is specific in what we should eat. When you look in Genesis, God made it known in creation to Adam what is meat for eating. And the Word says this; “And God said..” Now let me just say this. When the Word says, and God said, or and Jesus said, don’t you think we are to take these Words literally? If God said it or if Jesus said it then it is so. “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.” Genesis 1:29-30.
Now many people boldly and incorrectly use the Bible that flesh meats the Lord told Noah of all kinds are good for us to eat. And this is used now for the saying, that God told Noah he can eat this, so we can eat it. God told Moses we can eat this, so its all good. Now the reason that Noah was able to eat flesh meat is because all of the vegetation was wiped out in the flood, and so there was nothing left until it was able to be reproduced. See Noah didn’t just put animals and creeping things and fish of every kind on the ark. He also had seeds of all kinds of the plants and trees and fruits and such to replant after the flood. Noah in fear after exiting the ark was afraid that the animals would eat them. So God put the fear out of Noah into the animals and allowed Noah to use flesh meat to eat UNTIL the vegetation was replenished. But God told Noah which meats he can eat out of all of the animals so that he and his family wouldn’t starve or become anemic from lack of the vegetation that was given in creation. No animals were used for food until after the flood.
“After Noah had come forth from the ark, he looked around upon the powerful and ferocious beasts which he brought out of the ark, and then upon his family numbering eight, and was greatly afraid that they would be destroyed by the beasts. But the Lord sent his angel to say to Noah, "The fear of you, and the dread of you, shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hands are they delivered. Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things." Previous to this time God had given man no permission to eat animal food. Every living substance upon the face of the earth upon which man could subsist had been destroyed, therefore God gave Noah permission to eat of the clean beasts which he had taken with him into the ark. God said to Noah, "Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you, even as the green herb have I given you all things." As God had formerly given them the herb of the ground and fruit of the field, now, in the peculiar circumstances in which they are placed he permits them to eat animal food. Yet I saw that the flesh of animals was not the most healthy article of food for man.” 3SG 75.3 - 3sg 76.
And when He told Moses what His people are given to eat in the flesh, He gave them the instructions of what is good and how to use the meat.
The Word plainly states that animals who have the split hoof but do not chew the cud is forbidden. In Leviticus 11 it explains which meats are for eating and which are not for eating. “The animals with the parted hoof, and is cloven-footed, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.” In verse 7 it plainly states that; “And the swine, though he divided the hoof, and be cloven-footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.” Leviticus 11:7-8 “Which remain amongst the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine’s flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels.” Isaiah 65:4 “They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.” Isaiah 66:17. “But it happened unto them according to the true proverb, “The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.” 2 Peter 2:22.
It is also said that anything in the sea or rivers or lakes that have scales shall be eaten. But those which does not have scales is an ABOMINATION unto you. Like crabs, shrimp, etc. They are bottom feeders that eat the trash of the waters. When we eat abominations, we trash our bodies with contaminants that make us sick.
The Word says: “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” 1 Corinthians 3:16-17. “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God: as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” 2 Corinthians 6:16
In the Word it says; “Touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you.” 2 Corinthians 6:17.
In these last days of this world’s history, we are not to even eat flesh meats anymore because of the contaminations that are in these meats. Hormones, fillers, chemicals, diseases, etc.. even though the package of a meat product says grass fed, even the grass is full of chemicals from chem-trails, pesticides, and such. Dairy isn’t even meant for human consumption. It never was. But the lust of the flesh and of the eyes as in the time of the fall of Adam when it is seen as good for food, it is eaten.
Now we have seen the word Abomination a few times, so what is the definition of abomination? “Extreme hatred; detestation, defilement, pollution, in a physical sense, or evil doctrines and practices, which are moral defilements, idols and idolatry, are called abominations. The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord. Prov. 14. Noah Webster 1828.
Revelation 3:15-16 says; “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth.” That is a hard thing to hear, being spewed, or vomited out of the Lord’s mouth. Would you wasn’t to risk that?
Now if the Lord in His Word, says there are things that are an abomination unto Him, wouldn’t you want to make sure to DO what the Word says to do so that you are not an abomination? Being spewed out of the mouth of the Lord is not something to look forward to. Also; “TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.” On your day of judgment, are you going to be found wanting? Weighed in the balance for not being doers of the Word? For not accepting the gospel of Christ?
The Word also says; “For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce-breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God…” 2 Timothy 3:2-4
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 7:21
What is the will of the Father? seeking for “the Hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.” Titus 1:2 It is everything that God desires or wishes to happen in heaven and on earth. His law was made because it is the essence of the appropriate life of response to His will. People ask, “What is the will of God for my life?” His will is that we obey Him. That we seek after Him. He created us for a purpose. He created us to be His children. And because we are His children we are to obey Him as we are to obey our earthly parents as we grew up. Growing in Christ is obeying the will of the Father.
Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” Those who profess to follow Christ, and go by the Word only, if you make void the law of God, you are not a doer of the Word. The commandments of God are MORAL laws, that we are to DO. Some people say I obey the commandments, just not the fourth. Well they are part of all ten, so if you don’t obey the fourth, you are not obeying any of them. If you aren’t obeying the first, or the second, you are not obeying any of them. So you are not a doer of the Word. If you break the least of these you are guilty of them all. What is the greatest commandment? “Love God with all of your heart, and with all of your soul, and with all of your mind and with all your strength. This is the first commandment.” How can you do that if you are breaking His moral laws in the slightest? The first four of the commandments. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31 This is obeying the last six of the commandments.
“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” 1 John 3:4. Many say that the Moral laws were nailed to the cross and we do not have to obey them. Well if it was written by the finger of God, on tables of stone, that is a definite contract between Him and us. Why would He dispose of something so important that He made between Himself and us by nailing it to the cross? “Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily My Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. Ye shall keep the Sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defilieth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among His people.
Exodus 31:13-14 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of the least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall DO and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:17-20. Now if this sounds like it was nailed to the cross, we are reading the Word wrong. Or we are being taught wrong. For if we go by what pastors say, that the moral law was nailed to the cross, we are not doers of the Word, but hearers only. For if Jesus Himself says this, then it is so. “Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.” Romans 3:31
The Word (the Bible) was given, for our protection against the enemy, the powers and principalities of this world. That is what the Bible says. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12
“And war broke out in heaven: Michael and His angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Revelation 12:7-9
“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own, for he is a liar and the father of it.” John 8:44
“How art thou fallen from heaven, o Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which did weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High.” Isaiah 14:12-14.
When it is professed of one that they follow Christ and His Word, yet still live in the worldly life of lies, and do not live as the Bible says we should live, they are not doers of the Word, only hearers. The Word is heard but are not actively living it. Doing is action, and action is done in faith, and when the Word is read, but only the thought that there is no need to do any of what it says because Jesus saved us already, then it is by hearing only. Because when the action is not living by the Word of God but by the word of man, then selfishness keeps us from obeying the Word of God. There is no research done by the reader on their own part to understand the Word in its truth and light. It is only by surface reading. No investigation is done.
“For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” (Practical Piety) 2 Timothy 3:16.
“Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105.
The Word says: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15. Those who claim to go by the Word only, need not surface read, but to back each Scripture up with other Scriptures that will prove the truth on a subject that is questioned. Also.. “Whom shall he teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts, For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line, here a little, and there a little:” Isaiah 28:9-10. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:” 1 John 1:1-2.
“The salvation of the soul, through faith in Christ, is the ground and pillar of the truth. Those who exercise true faith in Christ make it manifest by holiness of character, by obedience to the law of God. They realize that the truth as it is in Jesus reaches heaven, and compasses eternity. They understand that the Christian’s character should represent the character of Christ, and be full of grace and truth. To them is imparted the oil of grace, which sustains a never failing light. The Holy Spirit in the heart of the believer, makes him complete in Christ. Sanctification is the transformation of character. And “Perfection of character is a lifelong work, unattainable by those who are not willing to strive for it in God’s appointed way, by slow and toilsome steps. We cannot afford to make any mistake in this matter, but we want day by day to be growing up into Christ, our living Head.” 5T p. 500
“The moral law contains the gospel in principle.” 3SP p.55
The first step toward heaven is conviction of sin, the second is repentance and obedience. “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep His commandments. He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him.” 1 John 2:3-4.
“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:” Matthew 7:24,26.
Reader, if you are reading this, think about this. You are waiting on the Lord, and you tell yourself you are ready for His return. Yet there are things you have not accepted in His gospel that even His messengers have given you. But you never took the time to really look into it to see if it is true or not. You never asked to study it with that messenger to see if it is of God. You brushed it off, you say I have done it this way all my life, and I am not going to change it. And instead of thinking within yourself, ‘Maybe I should reconsider and see what God says about it,’ you boldly claim your dependence on the tradition. You have proved to be a hearer and not a doer of the Word. If you only go by what a pastor says, you are not a doer of the Word but a hearer only. And you don’t even know if what you hear is the truth of the Word, without looking into it yourself. “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves…” “Wherefore, come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” 2 Corinthians 6:17-18. “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.” Proverbs 8:13
“What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him?… Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works; shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, o vain man, that faith without works is dead?” James 2:14,17-20.
“The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?” Obadiah 3:3.
“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” James 4:17
“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.” 1 Peter 4:17-19.
“And the LORD said to me, “Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem: Hear the words of this covenant and do them.” Jeremiah 11:6.
For if you know the truth, the truth shall set you free. Being doers of the Word is not a burden, it is the path to righteousness, it is your eternal salvation that is at stake here. Do you want to be on the right side of the Lord? Because soon He shall appear, and the brightness of His glory will either be your praise, or your destruction. Which would you rather be at. Look at yourself and ask the question, are you really ready for the Lord to come? Oh reader, search your heart, know yourself if your are worthy. Are you a wise man, or a foolish man or woman. What does it say? “Let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall…” Are you secure in the Word of God? Are you a doer of the Word or a hearer only. “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves how that Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” 2 Corinthians 13:5
What is a reprobate? “Not enduring proof or trial; not of standard purity or fineness; disallowed; rejected. Abandoned in sin; lost to virtue or grace. Abandoned to error, or in apostasy.” Noah Webster 1828.
Remember doing is an action. Doing is obedience. It is done by faith. Hearing the Word and acting on it shows where you stand with the Father, and with Jesus. Paul says, “If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His.” Romans 8:9.
“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to ALL men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and Godly, in this present world: Looking for that blessed Hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.” Titus 2:11-15. “Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them, for God hath shown it unto them. For from the creation of the world the invisible things of Him are clearly seen, being understood through the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.” Romans 1:19-2
So. Are you going to stay in the world, or look for that blessed Hope?. Jesus Christ.
Abba Father; I come before You to pray for the reader who just took the time to see this most important message about salvation and how now is the time they need to look at themselves and ask the question, if they are really ready to meet the Lord at His coming. Father I pray that there is conviction of heart in all of these matters and with all that is needed for them to search Your word for themselves and to study it, and not just surface read and be doers of Your Word and not just hearers only. For time is so running out, and there is no more sugar coating these things that are of the utmost importance.
Father I pray that these readers will realize how precious their soul is. That a great price was paid for them, and that they need to know how precious this gift of salvation is to them. I pray that they will want now to open the door of their heart to Christ and His true gospel. Let them see how important the truth is and that You are waiting for them to come to You. Oh Father allow them to see that there is no more time left in this controversy and that soon the censor will drop and Jesus will declare “It is done.” Oh how I pray for these souls Father to come to the everlasting truths of Your Word and Your gospel. Open their hearts Father one last time and allow your Spirit to water what was given to them in this effort to help them understand where they stand at this point in their lives. Father I praise You and Your only Begotten Son Jesus Christ my Saviour, and it is His name I pray this for the reader who may need a reminder of these things. Amen.
